What constitutes a dental emergency?
At Riverside Dental Practice, our emergency dentists always give priority to genuine dental emergencies. These include, for example:
- Severe pain, which persists even after taking painkillers
- Swelling
- Bleeding
- Injury
- Broken jaw
Routine problems such as lost fillings, lost crowns, minor toothaches and broken teeth are treated with lesser-priority and will be attended to when practical. You can find out more about our routine dental procedures here.
Out of hours emergencies: what are the options?
We participate in the Out of Hours Stirling Rota Emergency Service, alongside several other practices in the Stirling area. This service provides access to emergency dental care during evenings, weekends and public holidays. The emergency number can be accessed by phoning the surgery and listening to the message on the answering machine. You will then be contacted promptly by the on-call dentist. This service runs until 11.00pm. For emergencies that arise during the night, please contact A&E Forth Valley Hospital, Larbert for advice on what to do next.
