Crowns and Bridges

Please note we are not accepting new patients-either NHS or Private -at the moment as we are dealing with the backlog of treatments for our registered patients built up over the pandemic.

Crown and  bridges for NHS and Private Patients.

Crowns are usually necessary when the tooth is broken or decayed and cannot be repaired  by a  routine filling.Crowns can be provided for both front and back teeth and are much preferable to losing the tooth.Modern crowns are very hard wearing and look great.Crowns can transform a patient’s appearance.

Dental bridges are similar to crowns, but are used to fill the gap or gaps left when teeth have been lost. At Riverside Dental Practice we can offer bridges in many simple and more complex cases. Whether you’re on the NHS or have private healthcare, you can access quality treatment  at Riverside. We only use high quality laboratories to manufacture the porcelain crowns and bridges.

What are the advantages of dental bridges?

  • Dental bridges are very easy to get accustomed to in a short amount of time
  • They feel exactly like your own teeth and do not cover the palate, making eating and speaking much easier.
  • Unlike removable dentures, dental bridges are fixed in place, so they do need to be removed for cleaning.
  • Dental bridges are very durable and as long as they are properly maintained, they have a very long lifespan.

The force of chewing is passed on to the abutment teeth instead of the gums themselves, making eating and chewing feel natural and comfortable.
